Jones Bank

Lovely large fish straight out of the sea on Jones Bank, 120 miles south of Ireland. Photo was taken onboard the French trawler "Le Murex". From here the fish will be gutted and washed and iced down until the vessel arrives back in Brittany. The fish are always big when fishing on Jones Bank, makes you wonder where the smaller ones are? The Prawns are a good size aswell. The compulsory fishing with large mesh in the nets seems to be work and reduces the catch of small fish.
